Wording for Surprise Parties
- 1). Crease a standard sheet of blank paper in half and tear along the folded line to create two equally sized pieces of paper.
- 2). Fold the half sheet of paper in half a second time and write the opening exclamation on the front of the outer flap. The opening message should not give the information about the party, only announce that their is one. Something as simple as, "You're Invited!" "Party!" or "Come Celebrate!", are all that is needed to announce the invitation.
- 3). Open the invitation and announce that the party is a surprise, include who it is for and briefly explain the reason. Write the words "SURPRISE PARTY" using all capital letters to make sure that this fact is not missed by any invitees.
- 4). Fill out the remaining space inside the card with information on when and where the event will take place along with any special instructions for unveiling the surprise. You may want to have party goers park a few blocks from the venue to avoid having the guest of honor recognize some of the vehicles.
- 5). Add a small reminder at the bottom of the invitation for guests to be careful when discussing the event as to not reveal the surprise. Supply a private phone number or email address for attendees to contact you with questions.
- 6). Deliver the surprise party invitations two weeks before the event to give guests time to plan for it without allowing too much time for the word to spread about the event. Slide the surprise party invitation into an envelope and seal it securely to protect the surprise.
