Reno Travel Trips
- Lake Tahoe-Nevada State Park offers visitors picnic areas and group facilities, as well as rental cabins, a boat launch and sandy beaches. The park also offers visitors hiking trails, such as the Tahoe Rim Trail, as well as horseback and biking trails. It is home to the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival in June and July.
Dayton State Park is located at the spot of one of Nevada's first permanent settlements, and is famous for being home to the remains of the Rock Point Mill, which processed silver during the Nevada silver boom. The Carson River runs through the park and park facilities include nature trails, first-come-first-serve camping, picnic areas, as well as bird-watching and fishing opportunities.

The majority of ski resorts, such as North Star at Tahoe, Sierra at Tahoe, Donner Ski Ranch and Alpine Meadows are located just across the border, on the nearby California side of Lake Tahoe. These resorts offer winter sport activities, such as downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, sledding and snow tubing. Remember that Lake Tahoe area ski resorts are quite busy in the winter, so you will want to make your ski lodge or hotel reservations a couple months in advance.
