How Sleep Affects Our Lives

Good quality sleep or bad, few ours sleep with constant waking up makes a big difference in everybody's life.
With sleep is the same as with food.
If you eat food that is unhealthy and gives you no energy at all during the day, you will not be prepared to deal with any assignments at all, professionally or privately.
If you sleep enough, and when I say enough I mean approximately 8 hours for grownups, 9 to 10 for children and 16 for small babies, than your body will be rested and ready for daily challenges.
However, if you not, and even worse if you are not sleeping properly for longer period, you will be completely dysfunctional, intolerant, irritable and cranky and everything else that otherwise you wouldn't be.
The best example for these situations is new parents.
This is the period when you cannot avoid not getting enough sleep.
Small baby with her needs doesn't ask you if you can or cannot get up many times during the night.
But we all know that and that doesn't stop us from having more children but we are also very patiently wait for them to grow up and let us sleep.
That is why this period is so difficult.
If new parents could have long and quality sleep during the night, nothing will be a problem tomorrow when we need to meet their needs.
The situation with older kids is a little bit different.
They sleep during the night without interruptions but there is a problem with putting them to sleep in time in order to get enough sleep.
It is very important, if not the most important, for children in school age, to get enough sleep.
They get very tired from school because they need to stay concentrated and focused in order to be able to be active in classes.
They usually have some other activities beside school like sport and that all takes a lot of their strength.
That is why parents must take control of getting their children to sleep in time.
Little babies and toddlers need enough sleep, too without exceptions.
They grow into healthier and happier persons if they are not over tired and irritated because of luck of sleep.
Small children easily lose control over their behavior and so their parents do, too.
That is why it is essential for them to sleep enough during the day and the night.
The most common mistake that parents do is not to put their children to nap so that they can go earlier to sleep at night.
That can work a day or two but after that, you will have one exhausted child that doesn't cooperate with parent because of tiredness.
Also, child, same as anyone else who doesn't sleep enough, will be more vulnerable to colds, flu, and other illnesses because their immune system gets weakened.
What you can try if your child, after nap, cannot fall asleep until late at night, is to take him or her outside for a walk or play.
Getting tired physically and spending time in the fresh air helps them to sleep better and to strengthen their immune system.
If your child sits in front of a TV or computer all day, you cannot expect them to be tired.
Lack of sleep can cause just bad things, nothing good can come out of it so if you can, pay more attention to how much quality sleep do you get and that will be the first step to more quality life.
