Foods That Contain Soy Protein

Soy products have been linked to a range of health benefits -- including reducing cholesterol levels. While soy, a product of soybeans, can be found in a variety of foods, no one really knows how much of an impact soy has on lowering cholesterol. While one study states that consuming 50 grams of soy products a day can lower low-density lipoproteins (LDL) by about 3%, other studies state that soy does not directly lower cholesterol levels.
Some scientists contend that soy lowers cholesterol by replacing the protein found in animal meat, which is high in saturated fat.

If you are in doubt as to whether or not your favorite food contains soy, look at the food label located on the back of the package. Soy or soy protein should be listed in the ingredients list.
