Door Entry Systems

Door entry systems are gaining in popularity and relevance today. A door entry system provides access through the door only to authorized personnel or only to people who are supposed to be there. Door entry systems are increasingly being used to protect businesses and households as well. For the domestic case, these systems can be increasingly seen in apartment houses. By having this system installed, you can make sure that only the people residing in the apartment gain access to the homes inside. This can make the residents feel secure and also reduce any crimes that may otherwise be possible to commit.

For businesses, it is quite natural that they would like to be protected against any unauthorized entry into their premises, and so door entry systems make a lot of sense to them. Also, within large businesses, it is common to restrict access to certain sensitive sections for all the employees. This can be most effectively carried out through a door entry system to this area.

There are many kinds of door entry systems, based on how they recognize the valid entrants through the door. For example, you may need to present a key card and enter a valid pin in order for the system to validate your entry. This way you make sure that a lost key card cannot be used to gain unauthorized and unrestricted access to your business, since the person will also need to enter a pin to get in. Another advantage of a key card system for businesses is that you can easily allow visitors into certain sections of the premises. This becomes important because in a large facility, it is very difficult to keep track of all the visitors on a given day.

Certain specialized entry systems are also being increasingly used. For example, a proximity type of a door entry system is used at times wherein through a radio frequency, the person carrying the right credentials can be detected at a distance and the door opens automatically without having to waste time in presenting the key card. Such new and innovative systems are being tried out in various businesses and it is only a matter of time that they become more ubiquitous.
