Three Easy Recycling Tips

Want to start recycling or at least make a better effort when it comes to reducing the amount of recyclable materials we throw away every day? Even if you're not the best recycler on the block, you can still make a difference simply by putting certain objects aside to put in the neighborhood recycling containers or on your own curb if you have curbside pick-up.
In some cases, you can even get a bit competitive with your recycling.
Can Drives If you save your aluminum cans, you might not be able to recycle them beside the curb.
Many neighborhoods don't support the aluminum cans in the pick-up.
But you can, however, save the cans and dump them into large trash bags.
Store them in the garage or basement and when your child's school has a can drive or you see one advertised in the community, grab those bags and help your child's class or your favorite cause win the event.
Saving cans for six months certainly add up over time, of course.
Get Organized To recycle everything that is accepted by your neighborhood or complex, you'll want to get organized.
First see what sorts of things are actually accepted in your neighborhood and then figure out how many containers you'll need to start organized.
If you have curbside pick-up of one bin, you're set.
Place that bin beside the trashcan and instead of tossing bottles and boxes into the trash, toss them into the container instead.
If you have to separate your recycling, smaller boxes or even brown paper bags that stand alone are great to use for tossing things in.
Move Your Trashcan Move your trashcan closer to your recycling center if you can.
Right now you're probably in the habit of tossing everything into the trashcan.
If you reach over to toss something in but see two or three options of where to put that item, you're in far better shape for getting in a great habit of recycling in your every day.
