I would even venture to say that it sucks.
Many people I know would rather gouge their eyeballs out with a spoon than to shop for home insurance deals.
Well, maybe its not that bad, but I think we can all agree that it is definitely not fun.
Why Does Shopping for Home Insurance Deals Suck So Bad? I have a couple theories on this.
For one, shopping for home insurance deals can be quite time consuming and complex.
Who really understands all that financial mumbo jumbo talk anyways? My agent and accountant understand.
I can only imagine what is going through their minds as they are consulting with clients who are nodding their heads incoherently with a glazed over look in their eyes as they are reviewing their insurance policies with them.
Shopping for home insurance is also very time consuming.
Nobody wants to spend more money than they have to for something they may not ever even have to use.
But it is also very time consuming and boring.
After asking friends and family what company and agent they recommend, flipping through the countless yellow pages listings for insurance agents, and pilfering through countless online insurance sites, it can be tempting to just say forget it and pick one using the "eenie meanie miney mo method".
Please do not do this! This is what the industry is designed to do.
The more complex insurance agents and insurance companies can make the process, the more likely it is that you will be willing to pay too much for your policy and put more of your hard earned money in their pockets.
So, How Can I Make Shopping for Home Insurance Deals Suck Less? Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done that will make shopping for the best home insurance deals not suck.
