Health & Medical Hypertension

When Did You Last Check Your Blood Pressure?

There are many people in this world who do not care about their health.
Some of them are simply careless and some are ignorant about various diseases and how they can prevent or treat those diseases with proper changes in their life style and dietary habits.
High blood pressure or hypertension is one such a chronic condition which is usually called a silent killer as it can damage many body organs slowly over a period of many months and years.
Most people will not know that they have high blood pressure because it usually does not cause acute symptoms.
Whatever symptoms they have like headache are attributed to minor causes.
Hypertension is often detected by a physician in a routine health check up or if the person goes to hospital for another illness and the BP is found to be high.
Even after the knowledge of this disease many people do not take it seriously mostly because high BP does not cause immediate damage unless of course it is of severe type.
They become serious about their high blood pressure only when they see evidence of damage to the body either in the form of worsened kidney function, an eye problem, heart attack or stroke.
It is always better to educate ourselves about this deadly disease.
Information about high blood pressure is easily available on the internet.
Alternatively you can talk to your doctor and discuss how to identify the symptoms of hypertension and how you can manage early stages with some changes in your daily life like exercise and diet.
