Why Are Alternative Sources Of Energy Important?

You have probably noticed alternative energy stories making the news lately.
Because of the spotlight alternative energies have been experiencing, we all know that they are vital somehow.
However, can you really say that you fully grasp, or realize why technologies like this are so important? Clean Energy vs Fossil Fuels One of the key questions involved with alternative energies has to do with cost, are they cheaper than traditional power generation? Well, not at the moment.
This is only when we talk about purchasing energy from the utilities, producing energy through a home installation, is actually quite cheaper, with all things considered.
However, alternative power is quickly gaining on traditional energies in terms of price because of: 1.
More advanced technology like silicon cells.
2.
Cheaper production techniques.
3.
Higher costs for fossil fuels.
All of these problems and more, are driving the cost of fossil fuels up, and alternative energies down.
We also of course need to take a look at how it affects the environment.
Anybody who tells you to not be concerned about traditional energy generation needs to have their head examined, or they are not telling the truth to you in order for them to line their pocket.
Fossil fuels are horrible for the environment, not just utilizing them for energies, but in the collection and manufacturing processes as well.
Alternative power is clean, renewable, and safe.
When it comes to alternative power vs traditional energy there's no contest to what's better for the environment.
It really is that simple.
So now lets take a look at social responsibility.
So what does social responsibility have to do with this anyway? Are you really accountable for your actions as an intelligent being? Philosophically speaking, it's not really for me to say.
But that's the point, is it not.
We make our own choices.
The media, your mother, your father, your wife's family, your husband, they can all tell you what they believe is right and wrong.
Nevertheless, the choice is always up to you, and you alone.
In the end we are all responsible for our "own" actions, it's the ripple effect.
Everything you do has cause and effect.
Alright, we have now come to the number one reason why we need to find and cultivate alternative sources of energy.
It's simple really, we're running out of fossil fuels, and quickly.
Fossil fuels take a huge amount of time to form, once they are gone that's it.
It hasn't been a very long time since we began using fossil fuel to generate energy, but the fact of the matter is we have consumed what many experts say is half of all fossil fuels in the world.
Most of this has been in the last couple of decades, and with the emerging economies of China, and India, you can expect the rate of consumption to drastically increase.
Our society, our way of life, is energy.
We are consumers of energy just like every organism on earth and there is no reason we cannot adapt to new ways in order to support our energy needs.
We are the problem, there is no doubt about that, however we can also be the solution.
We all have a part in this drama, a responsibility to help out where we can.
Will we be able to switch in time? Of course we can.
Will we do it? It's not like we really have a choice do we.
