Long Adored Animal Posters

From animal kingdom posters in science classrooms to hang in there cat posters in offices, animal posters are big right now. It is pretty funny, because when I was growing up I remember animals posters as being almost exclusively reserved for kids. My little sister in particular used to love having animal pictures on her wall. She would go through phases. One month, she would be into horses and cover her entire bedroom with horse posters. A month later, she would switch over, and go crazy over bunnies. Whatever it was, it would always be fluffy and cute.

Of course, we frequently have a lot of animals posters hanging around my house as well. You see, my girlfriend is a science educator. As such, animal posters are sort of her bread and butter. She teaches a class about bats, And it seems like every week I see a new bat poster. Some will show all of the different varieties of bats in their native habitats, while other ones will dramatize the nocturnal hunting of insects to capture the imaginations of children. While I think bats are pretty neat, I always assumed that animals posters were mostly for decoration. Seeing kids walking around at the science fair she was holding changed that opinion.

The kids absolutely loved the animals posters. A lot of us older folks forget how individualistic kids are. Even by the age of three or four, all of them already have strong likes and dislikes. One of the kids absolutely loved that bat poster, and was practically memorizing it. He then ran back to his mom to tell her all about bats. Another one was looking at the animals posters about life on the prairie, staring fixedly at a picture of a prairie dog while she chewed on her fist. I'm not really sure how much she got out of that animals poster, but she seemed to like it!

Of course, some animals posters have never gone out of style. For example, we have all seen the dogs playing poker poster a thousand times, but people still seem to find it funny. I think that animal posters that show other creatures acting human touch something deep within us. On the one hand, we are people living in the modern world, but on the other hand, we are still animals, with animal needs. That is why seeing animals doing human things will always be entertaining.
