How to Unlock a MotoRizr
- 1). Record your phone's International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number by entering "*#06#" into your phone using the phone keypad. The carrier or online vendor will need this number to provide a valid unlock code. The IMEI number differs for every phone.
- 2). Obtain a SIM card from your new provider or purchase one (see Resources).
- 3). Hold the power key down until your Z3, Z8, Z9 or Z10 phone powers off.
- 4). Push the release button on the bottom of your RIZR to remove the battery cover.
- 5). Remove the current SIM card from the SIM card holder and slide the SIM card from your new provider into the holder. Replace the battery cover and power on your phone. "Enter Special Code" will appear on your phone display.
- 6). Input the unlock code that you purchased or received from your provider using your phone's keypad.
