Lahore, Pakistan's center for arts and culture, is the country's second largest city. It may not have the financial clout of Karachi or the diplomatic air of Islamabad, but Lahore more than makes up for it with its intriguing history, rich architecture and colorful bazaars. Hotels are located all around the city, although the most exclusive lodging options are found along the central Mall Road area. - Slightly south of the city center, Hotel Sunfort is located in the post suburb of Gulberg. The hotel is on the edge of Liberty market, a busy commercial and shopping area popular with Lahori ladies. Here you can watch men dye scarves in vibrant colors, haggle over saris, observe tailors at work or browse dozens of jewelry shops fit for all budgets. Rooms in this hotel have central air conditioning and cable television. There's a fully equipped business center on site and 24-hour room service. Mini bar is available on request. Nearby restaurants include the Best Western hotel restaurant as well as dozens of cheap hole-in-the-wall restaurants. For tasty shwarmas, try Gobblers in the Liberty Market roundabout.

holidayinnlahore.com - There are two luxury five-star hotels in Lahore: the Pearl Continental and the Avari. The two hotels are within walking distance of each other on the city's main thoroughfare, Mall Road, although you'd be loathe to walk across this road during any one of Lahore's several "rush hours." The Avari is close to all the sights of Old Lahore as well as the Lahore Zoo and Jinnah Gardens. Guests receive a free airport shuttle and rooms include satellite TV, air conditioning, free movies on demand and stocked mini bar. There are five restaurants at the hotel where you can sample Chinese, Japanese, French or continental cuisine. Arrange a personal chauffeur or concierge by visiting the front desk or set up a babysitter for a night on the town. Leisure activities on site include a four-season outdoor pool, gym, massage parlor and spa. There are special rooms for solo lady travelers and business travelers.
