We do not know what will happen in the future so we make use of pseudo sciences such as astrology to give answers to the several unanswered questions we have about life, death and future.
Astrology has been in existence from the ancient times.
Astrology itself is different in different cultures and religions.
It can be basically differentiated into 2 types -- natural and judicial.
Natural astrology makes use the planetary positions and judicial astrology is based on the effects celestial bodies have on humans.
Based on cultures and regions, astrology is divided into Western, Chinese and Indian.
Western astrology originated in Babylonia.
From there, it went to the Greece in fourth century and then to Rome.
The Arab people started believing in astrology between the seventh and thirteenth centuries.
After a few centuries, the Aztecs, the Mayans and the civilizations developed their own forms of astrology.
The Babylonian belief was that five planets existed which represented God.
The five planets were Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Mars and Mercury.
They believed that God's activities were connected with the movements of sun, moon and the other planets.
The astrology of China is based on Chinese philosophy and astronomy.
The five planets which existed in Chinese philosophy were Venus, which represented metal; Mercury, which represented water; Mars which represented the fire; Saturn which represented Earth; and Jupiter, which represented wood.
The Chinese zodiacs are important part of Chinese astrology.
