Using a Eulogy Sample As a Writing Guide

When one is asked to give a eulogy, a good place to start is to get hold of a eulogy sample for reference.
There are several sources where one can be acquired.
The bookstore or library section where books on dealing with grief and death may be worth a visit.
These books may have a chapter or two on sample eulogies appropriate for a member of the family or a close friend or relative.
It is also possible to find good samples on the Internet.
There are various eulogy samples out there that are often written depending on one's relationship with the deceased.
The eulogy written for a family member will most likely have a different tone or range of emotions involved compared with one that was written for a business associate.
Eulogies also differ in writing styles - some are written as standard speeches while some are in the form of poems.
Also, depending on the type of person the deceased was, the eulogy can be very serious or have a touch of humor in it.
After choosing the eulogy sample to pattern one's speech after, care should be given that the sample is used as a reference only.
It doesn't seem right to copy word for word from the piece even if everything one wants to say is already expressed in the sample.
A good eulogy should include memorable events in the life shared with the deceased and highlight the qualities that person is known for.
With that, you should be well on your way to writing a great speech.
