What Does Pomegranate Fruit Extract Cure?
- Pomegranate peel extracts may reel in damaging free radicals, but studies are inconclusive. It has abundant antioxidant properties that may fight off many diseases, illnesses and cancers.
- A study conducted by the Lipid Research Laboratory in Haifa, Israel and reported in the January 2005 issue of Life Extension Magazine showed that pomegranate extract was associated with slowing the development of atherosclerosis. It also has a positive effect on lowering cholesterol.
- The same study by Lipid Research Laboratory showed a direct correlation between pomegranate extract and the lowering of high blood pressure. The study also concluded that pomegranate extract can have a significant impact in preventing cardiovascular disease.
- A University of Wisconsin study (from the January 2005 Life Extension Magazine) showed that fighting off tumors before they can begin to develop is imperative for long and clean health. The study showed that combating free radicals with antioxidants (such as those found in pomegranate extract) is beneficial and backs up earlier studies conducted in 2003 in South Dakota and Japan that showed pomegranate extract was effective as an agent in guarding off skin and colon cancer.

Men with prostate cancer who took part in the study showed significantly lower PSA doubling times.
- The International Journal of Impotence Research conducted a pilot study in 2007 (printed on POM's website) that showed that pomegranate extract was twice as likely to experience improved erections after taking pomegranite juice for four weeks.
