VFF - A Customer’S View
I currently own two Vibrams to date, the KSO and Bikila. I must admit that wearing one can be very awkward at the first instance. But now, it has come to a point that I couldn't bear wearing any other footwear for my running routine every morning. Vibram has been in the business of making footwear for quite some time now. However, the humble beginning was simply about making and providing soles for other footwear brands. But now, they are one of the most popular choices for footwear intended for sports and outdoor activities such as running and trekking.
I for one have come to love the VFF. I am hoping that someday I could collect every single model they have unveiled so far. But for now, here's a summary of what I think about the Vibram Five Fingers:
Question of Quality
There is no question or any issue regarding the quality of any VFF footwear. In fact, the quality is perhaps the best positive attribute one can get from the brand. The price may be high for some models but overall, the shoes are really that good in reality, same as how it is advertised. For example, many people attest that they have ran more than a thousand miles in one pair of VFF.
Better Toe Adjustment
One of the main issues with VFF is the toe adjustment. At first try, it seems like a long shot. The trouble you have to go through just to fit your toes in may be great but after some time, you actually get used to it and then realize that it is very comfortable. As soon as you start to run, you'll feel double the comfort and you are able to maximize your performance in the road.
Muscle Use and Coordination
Perhaps one of the most obvious reasons why the feet become too stressed out with traditional shoes is that the design is simply not that friendly with regards to long periods of use. But with the VFF, every muscle and part of the foot is utilized to their maximum potential and they can freely move. This is because the footwear follows the shape of the foot, making it possible to run or walk as if the wearer isn't wearing anything at all.
Final Thoughts
There's really nothing more to say about the Vibram Five Fingers. It's simply a case of seeing and wearing it in order to believe in its benefits.
