How to Pay Off Credit Cards

    • 1). Determine the amount that you owe on each of your cards, if you have a line of credit that you can consolidate several of the smaller balances, transfer the balances over to one card

    • 2). Pay more than the minimum on the credit card. By just paying the minimum you will be in debt for years. Take whatever expendable money that you can afford and pay on the principal amount

    • 3). Stop charging. If you see a pair of shoes you want, save for them and pay cash.

    • 4). Pay off a credit card, take a pair of scissors and cut that card in half and close out the account.

    • 5). Obtain a part time job to pay off a debt, take everything that you earn from the part time job and put it directly on your credit card bill.

    • 6). As you pay off a card to a zero balance, take those funds and combine it to another card payment. Do not think that because you have paid off a card and have an additional $25.00 a month that you can spend that money, put it on another bill to decrease the balance you owe. Soon all you bills will be at a zero.
