Cleaning Procedure For a Duck Down Duvet

During cold months, all of us want to be warmed.
We can fire the fireplace or we can wrap ourselves with comforters.
A duck down duvet is a very good option in making us warm.
It is very comfortable and it can make us warm in a minute.
Cleaning such duvet is sometimes difficult because it is delicate, bulky and big.
However, there can be a correct procedure to be followed so that the cleaning will become easier.
1.
Check the duvet if it is in good state.
See to it that there are no holes or snags on it.
If there are holes and still you are going to wash it, duck feathers will come out.
Of course, it will be ruined since the fillings are no longer present.
Patch first any holes so that you can prevent the coming out of feathers.
2.
Use a soft brush and a stain remover to clean a spot with stain.
Dry it in the sun afterward.
If the duvet has a cover, then this is the only cleaning that you will need.
There is no need to continue with the process since the duvet cover is the only thing that will be washed.
3.
A large washing machine is needed in washing the duvet.
Since it is big and thick, small machines will not be able to clean it.
If there is no large washing machine at home, take it to a laundry shop.
They do have large washing machines there.
Wash it using a gentle detergent so that it will not be damaged.
4.
Allow it to dry.
You can use a dryer or you can hang it outside to dry.
If you are using a dryer, take it out every 20 minutes.
This will fluff it out and the clumps can be broken down.
It will take some hours before the duvet will dry out.
5.
For two days, dry it under the sun.
Never leave it outside for overnight.
To ensure complete dryness, always flip it every now and then so that all feathers will dry.
If you will follow these steps, then you will not be hardened up in cleaning a duck down duvet.
Yes, it is big, bulky, heavy and delicate but you can have a solution to that.
