- 1). Put on safety glasses and leather gloves to protect your face and hands during this process.
- 2). Remove the hose from its attached component if necessary, and place it onto a flat surface.
- 3). Draw a ring around the part of the cylindrical hose you want to trim using a marker; for example, if you want to trim the hose down by an inch, draw a ring an inch away from the cylindrical head.
- 4). Trim along the marker line with pliers to remove the excess cylindrical hose length; continue trimming until the cylindrical hose is at your desired length.
- 5). Reattach the hose to its device or machine, if necessary, to finish.
