What Are the Specifications of a 1976 Honda CB200T?

    • The CB200T is a lightweight motorcycle manufactured by Honda. The first CB200 was produced in 1974, and it was available in either red or green. In 1975, Honda changed the bike's designation to CB200T and changed the two available colors to gold or silver. The CB200T name stayed the same for the 1976 version, though the colors were again changed, to yellow or orange with black accents. Though the design is very simple by modern standards, many CB200Ts still provide reliable transportation today.

    Engine

    • Though the "200" in "CB200T" indicates a 200 cubic centimeter (cc) displacement engine, the motorcycle's motor is technically 198 cc. The engine features two cylinders, each with a width, or "bore," of 55.5 mm and a stroke of 41 mm. The compression ratio in the CB200T's cylinders is 9-to-1, meaning that the air and gas mix within the engine is at nine times the air pressure when the cylinders fire.

The motor of the CB200T is connected to two 18 mm carburetors manufactured by Keihin. The function of these carburetors is very simple by today's standards. The Keihin carburetors operate entirely mechanically, with no electronic control or sensors.

    Chassis

    • The CB200T weighs 291 pounds. This makes it reletively lightweight by motorcycle standards; for comparison, a modern Harley-Davidson Sportster weighs over 580 pounds. The lightweight chassis helps make the CB200T easy to manage for beginning or smaller riders.

The length of the motorcycle is 77.4 inches. It has an overall width of 32.5 inches and a height of 41.7 inches. The front tire, at 2.75 by 18 inches, is slightly smaller than the rear tire, which is 3 by 18 inches.

    Transmission

    • The CB200T has a five-speed manual transmission. This is operated from a standard motorcycle layout: The clutch is located on the left handlebar, while the shift lever is operated using the left foot. A chain drive connects the gears to the rear wheel.

The maximum revolutions per minute from the engine to the transmission is 9,000 rpm. At these rpms, the CB200T produces 17 horsepower, giving the CB200T a top speed of 77.1 mph.

    Electrical

    • Powering the spark plugs and other electronic components of the CB200T is a Yuasa MBW3-12C motorcycle battery. This battery is 12 volts, and is rated at nine amp-hours. The battery is designed to be charged at a rate of 0.9 amps.
