• The University of Toledo is the largest school in Northwest Ohio, with over 20,000 students enrolled. The university offers over 250 undergraduate and graduate programs as well as a distance learning program that is one of the largest in the country. Bowling Green State University

• Bowling Green is located about 20 miles outside of Toledo. Also a large school with over 20,000 students, Bowling Green offers undergraduate, graduate and doctorate degrees. University of Findlay

• The University of Findlay is a small school, with about 5,500 students. It offers undergraduate, graduate and doctorate programs. Unlike the University of Toledo and Bowling Green, the University of Findlay is a private school. The University of Findlay is extremely well-regarded, routinely being ranked as one of the best universities in the Midwest by publications such as the Princeton Review. Mercy College Of Northwest Ohio

• Mercy College is a private Roman Catholic-affiliated university in Toledo. It was originally founded as a nursing school, and it remains a health sciences-oriented university. Top programs at Mercy include health care administration, health information technology, nursing and radiologic technology. University of Northwestern Ohio

• The University of Northwest Ohio is a private university located in Lima, Ohio. It is an inexpensive school offering a great deal of flexibility for students. Classes are offered in a morning block, and afternoon block, and an evening block, helping students who must schedule their studies in between other necessary life commitments. UNOH has no out of state tuition, so is therefore highly affordable compared to other schools.
