Sweet Dreams - Four Things You Can Do So That You Can Rest Easy

Everyone wants to have sweet dreams and not scary or disturbing ones.
But since dreams are a function of your subconscious how can you ever be sure that you will have sweet dreams instead of ugly ones? You can never be 100% sure that you will have good dreams, but having an established bedtime routine that helps you relax and settle your mind is a good way to sleep better and hopefully have pleasant dreams.
What kind of things can you do at bedtime to get rid of stress and quiet down your mind? There are lots of calming and soothing bedtime rituals that can make you feel a lot more peaceful.
Try some of these activities before bed and see if your dreams become sweeter: 1.
A hot bath - Nothing is as relaxing or soothing as a hot bath.
Read an inspirational book while you soak or just soak and relax.
Use some herbal bath tea to enhance the relaxation.
2.
Meditate - Meditating regularly has been proven to significantly lower stress levels and help you sleep better.
If you start meditating regularly at bed time you will sleep better and more deeply, and that should give you sweeter dreams.
3.
Have a cup of tea - Even just drinking a cup of tea can be a relaxing ritual if you do it right.
Have a special mug that you use just for bedtime tea.
Buy yourself a beautiful, expensive, handmade mug to make it more special.
Then find some exotic herbal tea blends that look delicious and will be very relaxing.
Artisan teas are easy to find and are an affordable everyday luxury.
4.
Write in a "gratitude journal" - Some experts say that being grateful for the little gifts we are given everyday can result in a more peaceful, centered life.
Take a few minutes each night before bed to write down everything that you were grateful for that day.
No matter how busy your day was if you can find three things during the day that you were grateful for you will go to bed much more relaxed and centered and your dreams should reflect that inner peace.
So, about an hour before bedtime meditate, take your hot bath, have that cup of tea and then sit in your comfy chair by the bed and write in your gratitude journal.
Now that you are feeling de-stressed, now would be a good time to spray some lovely aromatic scents in your room.
By adding calming scents to your room you are training your body to relax, so you fall asleep faster.
Doesn't that sound great? Now pull the sheets and blankets over your body and have sweet dreams.
Good night.
