Step One

Be sure you are never tense and stiff. Relax all your muscles, as this will increase your speed and stamina.

Step Two

Never remain still. Stay on the balls of your feet at all times , move from side-to-side around the bag and weave your upper body. This will help to work more muscles and increase the intensity.

Step Three

You should always break your workout into rounds. The ideal amount is three or five 2-minute rounds. This will allow you to maintain control of your workout and keep track of your improvement.

Step Four

You should picture the bag as an opponent who could throw punches at you at any time. This should keep you sharp and help you to make sure you are always working on your defence.

Most importantly enjoy yourself. This has proven to be a lot easier then you may think. It’s not rare to see men and woman alike developing a real passion for the sport once they learn the techniques properly. Plus, when you enjoy something, you are more likely to stick to it.
