Things for a Baby Registry
- Every new mom has some large items that are completely necessary and make for good registry items. If one person can't afford to buy one of these larger ticket items alone, she may be able to organize a group of people to buy you something you really need. A portable stroller with a travel system is a convenient way to take baby from the car to the stroller without waking him up. All babies need car seats to even leave the hospital, so it's obviously a good choice for your registry. Other items like a regulation crib, a crib bedding set and a swing are all things that will be helpful to add to your registry. Just make sure that you are having your shower far enough in advance so that if you don't receive the larger items as gifts, you can buy them on your own before baby arrives.
- The majority of your baby registry should be made up of mid-priced items that most people will easily be able to afford. These mid-priced items are often the ones that will make your life easier and are exciting for guests to buy for you. Items like an activity chair are usually reasonably priced, well within the price range that most guests will be willing to pay for a shower gift. Other mid-priced and medium items include layette sets that will help keep your baby clothed, specialty blankets and other outfits. Look for things that stay within most guests' budgets, and use them to make up most of your registry. Don't forget to include a baby monitor on your registry list.
- Some small items have a way of falling through the cracks when it comes to making a baby registry. Sometimes you are so focused on the big ticket items, and the cute medium-priced items that the small and practical ones are forgotten. However, these are some of the most important ones. Smaller items are helpful for someone who may not have money to spend on a larger gift but still wants to help in some way. They are also good for someone who wants to make a basket or buy a few of the smaller items than one large one. Remember to add things like burp clothes, toiletries like baby wash and baby lotion, and first aid items like a thermometer, nail clippers and nasal aspirator. While they may not seem like the most fun gifts to choose for your registry, you'll need to have all of them on hand to care for your baby during those first few months. Choose gifts at each price point, and your guests will be able to choose a gift to give that suits their budget and style.
