Where to Celebrate Songkran

There's something going on for Songkran in every part of the country. Most celebrations are from April 13 to April 15, although some areas celebrate for a full week! ?

Bangkok Songkran Celebrations


Most of central Bangkok closes up shop for the three days of Songkran and residents and visitors head to the streets with buckets, water guns and hoses to celebrate and cool off.  Silom Road and Khao San Road have some of the biggest street parties and should not be missed by those who don’t mind getting wet. Traditional celebrations are held at the following Bangkok temples:

  • Wat Suthat Thepwararam Ratchaworamahawihan
  • Wat Saket
  • Wat Bwornnivetviharn
  • Wat Chanasongkhram Ratchaworamahawihan
